The girl strode through the marketplace on her horse, then slid off to lead him. Her eyes widened as she saw all the goods there were.

The mahogany, sharp-eyed centaur parted through the crowds, ebony banner held high. She smiled snake-like at a round, bearded merchant donned in golden robes.
"Greetings, Furcifer. Sales have been well, i presume?" she said in her thick spidery accent, eyeing the elaborate clothing.
"Quite good." replied the merchant, beaming. "Do you have anything that might intrest this old man?"
Silene smiled quietly, then reached into her silky olive cape to withdraw a magnificent music box. "Pure rubies," she pointed out. The merchant looked longingly at the box, then reluctantly drew out 5 gold coins.
Silene's eyes narrowed. One of her sharp orbs being a glassy blue, this giving off an evil aura. "I don't like being cheated, human."
The merchant gulped, then withdrew another 5 gold coins and a pearl necklace. Silene smiled, took the earnings, and handed over the box. The centaur paraded away, getting many looks of suprise, fear, and even anger. She sighed. It was so hard being the only centaur that she knew of in the land.

Keira started, and attempted not to stare as a centaur paraded past her. The centaur had a certain air about her, one that gave off a mixture of anger and something else she couldn't quite recognize. She wished to meet this - creature- for lack of better words. She increased her pace and stopped a little ways infront of her. "Hello, I'm Keira, and you are?..." she said.

Silene glanced down, almost trampling the human girl before her. She staggered back in suprise, and raised her two forehooves slightly in a soft half-rear.
The centaur collided with the ground once more, and looked warily at the girl. She was certaintly bold, that was for certain. Silene opened her mouth to emit a cunning insult to her and perhaps throw in one about the human race, but bit her tongue. She reminded herself she was in human lands, and it would be wise not to upset them.
"I am Silene," anwsered the centaur silkily, her accent thick and polite.

Keira was startled as the centaur raised herself into a half-rear, but a mixture of curiosity and pride forced her to stand her ground. She nodded curtly as the centaur answered her. "Silene..." she repeated as though trying to memorize the word. "That's beautiful. Oh, I'm Keira," she added as she extended her hand in greeting.

"Thank you," said the centaur imperiously, bobbing her mahogany head. "Keira is quite an unusual name. At least for me." Silene gave a silvery laugh.
She politely declined he hand with a quiet smile and shake of the head, and suddenly bent low on one knee of her forelegs. After a moment, she roze up and shook her chocolate tassles.

Keira quickly withdrew her hand, "Sorry, didn't mean to offend you or anything. Yes, Keira is a bit unusual, but then again so am I, " she added laughing. "Well, it was good to meet you, I'll see you around?"
